Road Construction in Manjusar

On a new Manjusar plot, the internal roads should be planned with the site levels and drains before anything else is built, so water always has a path away from your buildings. We build RCC internal roads, approach roads and yards for new units in Manjusar, with crossings left for future pipes and cables.

Building in Manjusar

Manjusar GIDC, in Savli taluka north of Vadodara, is a growing estate where new factories, sheds and warehouses keep coming up. Many plots are new, which means building from an empty plot: compound wall, shed, floor, roads, drainage and fire fighting.

Our office in Nandesari is close by, and we have worked for industrial clients across the northern side of Vadodara for decades, including Nandesari GIDC units such as Akshar Chemi and Oriental Aromatics.

Avoid these

Common mistakes with road construction

  1. Pouring concrete on soil that was never properly compacted
  2. Choosing slab thickness by price, not by the heaviest vehicle
  3. Forgetting crossings for future pipes and cables, then breaking the new road
  4. Opening the road to trucks before the concrete has cured
Quality and cost

What decides the quality and cost of road construction

Traffic and wheel loads

A road for cars and a road for 40-tonne trailers are different designs. The heaviest vehicle, and how often it uses the road, decides the slab thickness and the base underneath.

Sub-grade and base

Most road failures start below the concrete. Weak or poorly compacted soil lets the slab settle and crack. Proper excavation, filling, compaction and a good base layer matter more than an extra inch of concrete.

Joints

Concrete roads need joints at the right spacing, cut at the right time and sealed. Without them, the road cracks wherever it likes.

Drainage and levels

Water standing on or beside a road softens the base. Road levels, camber and side drains should be designed together, and pipe and cable crossings laid before the concrete, not broken in later.
