Before starting an industrial project in Vadodara, check the plot and its access, get drawings ready or frozen in sequence, plan approvals with your consultant alongside the schedule, decide how many contractors you will manage, agree the schedule and daily reporting, and plan testing and hand-over from day one. Most delays are decided at this stage.
1. Know your plot
Check soil conditions, levels, drainage, access for heavy vehicles and cranes, and power and water connections. A site visit by your contractor at this stage costs nothing and saves surprises later.
2. Get the drawings ready
Civil, structural, piping and fire fighting drawings should be ready, or at least frozen in sequence, before work starts. Work that starts on incomplete drawings usually stops again.
3. Plan approvals early
Your consultants handle the approvals that apply to your project, such as building plan and fire NOC. Plan them with the construction schedule, not after it.
4. Decide how many contractors you will manage
Separate contractors for civil, steel, piping and fire fighting means you manage the gaps between them. One responsible contractor removes them.
5. Fix the schedule and the reporting
Agree the schedule, milestones and how progress will be reported. A daily progress report means you see problems on day one, not in month six.
6. Plan testing and hand-over from the start
Hydro tests, inspections and documentation should be in the plan from day one, so start-up isn’t held up at the end.
